Block not correctly breaking

So I made an ore, and it spawns. But the problem is its not getting harvested right. It's meant to be mined by an Iron pickaxe, but I cant seem to get it to work. It just breaks by hand, like a torch. There are no errors too btw.

My block class:

package mtshaw113.juli;

import net.minecraft.block.Block;
import net.minecraft.block.material.Material;
import net.minecraft.client.renderer.texture.IconRegister;
import net.minecraft.creativetab.CreativeTabs;
import net.minecraftforge.common.MinecraftForge;

public class oreJuli extends Block
{
public oreJuli(int ID){
	super(ID,Material.rock); //Parameters: Block ID, Block material
	//setTextureFile("/TutorialGFX/Blocks.png"); //The texture file used
	//setBlockName("DeverionXBlockOre"); //The incode block name
	setHardness(3.0F); //The block hardness
	setResistance(5.0F); //The explosion resistance
	MinecraftForge.setBlockHarvestLevel(Juli.oreJuli, 0, "pickaxe", 2);
	//setCreativeTab(Juli.tabJuli); //The tab it appears in
	}

public oreJuli(int id, Material par2Material)
{
	super(id, par2Material);
	this.setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabBlock);
}

public void registerIcons(IconRegister iconRegister)
{
blockIcon = iconRegister.registerIcon("Juli:oreJuli");
}
}

I'm pretty sure there is a lot of unused code in that file im just too lazy to clean it up

It has nothing to do with your block class, you simple lack a line of code in your load() in the mail class.

put this line of code in the load void

MinecraftForge.setBlockHarvestLevel(OREBLOCK "TOOL", HARVESTLVL);

ex: MinecraftForge.setBlockHarvestLevel(oreJuli, "pickaxe", 2);

Its not working, It still breaks with my hand instantly, but doesnt drop it; and also it drops with iron and up, but no durability is taken away from the tool

You also need to set the hardness. (this.blockHardness = 3)

or

this.setBlockHardness(3F).//the F indicates that the value is a float, not a double

setHardness(), not setBlockHardness(). Which, I might warn the OPer, also sets the block resistance.

I've tried each suggestion and none are working. So I'm gonna explain what I am doing. My block(its an ore) loads into the game fine. No errors in console. Its in the correct creative menu, so I grab the block. I turn myself onto survival, and try to mine the block. Its breaks instantly, as if I were on Creative. The block only drops itself if I "mine" it with an Iron or better pickaxe. I CAN break the block with my hand, instantly, but without it dropping.

I understand your problem. If you are setting the block hardness, that should not happen. Is there not a line in your block constructor that says this.blockHardness = 3 or this.setHardness(3f)?

note that as a second possibility you can also do

yourBlock = new YouBlock(id);

yourBlock.setHardness(3f);

instead of calling setHardness in the constructor

Or even yourBlock = new YourBlock(id).setHardness(3f); as those functions return the instance. (I mean, look at Block.java.)
