[Solved] Textures not loading in Minecraft after recompiling and reobstr

Aaaand that's why I posted my mod zip.I think it is correctly packaged.Could you please take a look at it and tell me what I did wrong,because it is probably something stupid that I'm just not able to spot...

 

And now I'd like to see your code for registering an Icon.

A java decompiler only gives me obfuscated function names, so I can't be certain what it is that you're doing.  But it appears that you are taking the unlocalized name, taking the first 5 characters of that, and trying to register an icon with that.  But your actual image files are not 5 characters long.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

I'd like to see the whole line, as well as what you're setting the unlocalized name to.

Look at any block or item...

.

 

BlockUniMatterBlock has an unlocalized name of "blockUniMatterBlock".

Stripping off the first 5 characters gives us "UniMatterBlock"

Icon registration uses that string as the file name.

 

There is no file named "UniMatterBlock.png"

There is one named "blockUniMatterBlock0.png"

 

The 0 we can ignore because of subblocks, point is, if you don't do the substring part, it might actually work.

EDIT: Nope,getUnlocalizedName2(); doesn't work either,as I was expecting.

Anyway,you are wrong about the substring part.

Here is the getUnlocalizedName(); code from block.java.

public String getUnlocalizedName()
    {
        return "tile." + this.unlocalizedName;
    }

Since I don't want the "tile." I do substring(5) to get rid of it.

Ah, I forgot it prepended that.

 

In either case, I just hand-code my icon registration and skip the unlocalized name stuff (other than to give the block a name).

I agree with draco, all i do is hand code the icon registration or reference it from a texture location file

So... I finally solved it.

Appearently in MC forge uses the case sensitive mod id,while in eclipse doesn't.

Since my mod id in the resources folder was "mods/dmod" while in my src files was "DMod" the textures didn't want to load.

 

Wow.  How obscure is that.
