1.14.4 read/write schematic .nbt from resources/data

I currently have my library of schematics (.nbt) in a file external to my mod. I would like to move the schematics into the resources/data portion of the mod but I can't figure out how to read/write access them from my code. I can't find an example of this in any existing mods. Any help would be appreciated
