Friends server DC'ing players when they click in inventory

For background a friend of kine is trying to put together A custom 1.12 modded minecraft pack and server for our little group of friends to use.

Sadly I can't provide much more than the logs he sent over but hoping somebody here wit experience making their own modpack server or just dealing with similar issues may be able to make sense of this. In my experience helping test I was able to connect to the server but soon as I clicked anything, even black spaces in the inv I immediately was disconnected for the server. Most recent change (post all this happening) was adding random patches thinking that maybe it was a packet size issue but the issue still seems to be happening.
