    • Hello, 3 or 4 days ago, I restarted my computer. Since then I can't play Minecraft. Every time I start the game, the launcher crashes. I tried to delete Minecraft and then download it again, in vain. I did the same with Forge, but it's the same thing.   I searched for crash reports, but there was none. I use 1.14.4 - 28.1.0 version. N.B : Minecraft works when I play with the original version of Minecraft (1.14.4).   Hope you can help me. Benjamin.

    • Yes, I saw it's using 2 entirely different blocks.   Is that a recommended way to do it? Would I have to create a new Block class for every block where I want its texture to change at runtime?
    • Ah, I did some searching and found it, cheers.   Just for future reference (for anyone who's been googling around trying to find it) your class must not only "extends ArmorItem" but also "implements IForgeItem." Then, the order of onArmorTicks' properties is (Itemstack, World, PlayerEntity)   Here's my code package com.izzymandias.AttackOfTheMushroomsMod.items.armor; import com.izzymandias.AttackOfTheMushroomsMod.lists.ItemList; import net.minecraft.entity.MobEntity; import net.minecraft.entity.player.PlayerEntity; import net.minecraft.inventory.EquipmentSlotType; import net.minecraft.item.ArmorItem; import net.minecraft.item.IArmorMaterial; import net.minecraft.item.ItemStack; import net.minecraft.potion.EffectInstance; import net.minecraft.potion.Effects; import net.minecraft.util.ActionResult; import net.minecraft.util.ActionResultType; import net.minecraft.util.Hand; import net.minecraft.world.World; import net.minecraftforge.common.extensions.IForgeItem; public class spore_leather_boots extends ArmorItem implements IForgeItem{ public spore_leather_boots(IArmorMaterial materialIn, EquipmentSlotType slot, Properties builder) { super(materialIn, slot, builder); } @Override public void onArmorTick(ItemStack itemStack, World world, PlayerEntity entity) { ItemStack boots = entity.getItemStackFromSlot(EquipmentSlotType.FEET); if(boots.getItem() == ItemList.spore_leather_boots) { EffectInstance statusEffect = new EffectInstance(Effects.SPEED, 40, 0); entity.addPotionEffect(statusEffect); } } }
    • This is why you use @Override. Your method does nothing, because it doesn't override anything. And yes, onAmorTick still exists. Use your IDE.
