Fake site pretending to be Forge

Yeah i recently became aware of the same site after my little brother was trying to find a 1.13 download. It was the first link that comes up when googling it. The site tries to almost exactly copy the real one so it can trick people, especially younger ones. I took a look at it, it seems to just try install a bunch of junk on your computer. Probably trying to get ad revenue money or something. Not extremely dangerous, but would prefer if something be done to get it taken down.

Literally nothing we can do to take it down. They are in a country that doesn't respect international copyright laws. And they pay Google to be the top result so ya, Welcome to the world of asshats.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

To add, their unlikely to get any support as everyone who would care and know how to counter it is using DDG.

Linux Mint uses it by default. Other than that, it's not as well known as some names like Bing, Google. Incidentally, not that anyone remembers it, but I'd stay away from Ask.com since they're owned by the notorious IAC (Interactive Corp) known for pushing malware/spyware (MyWebsearch toolbar, Zwinky, FunBuddyIcons, rootkits, auto-downloaders/reinstallers, and so on.)

The Whois lookup on that shows a hosting company (World4You) in Austria.

Well actually, I had a friend trying to get Forge. I was telling him what to do, and as he is a big impatient bugger, he clicked on the wrong link. He had a million viruses on his computer. Don't worry though, as we managed to get them all off.

Use Malwarebytes and run a Windows Defender scan.

      I had the same issue. The only thing I could do is to remove parchment mappings entirely from config files and replace config files from the MDK: 1. replace build.gradle from MDK 2. restore official mapping in build.properties 3. replace src\main\resources\META-INF\mods.toml from MDK sample.

      i notice a change if i add the min and max ram in the line like this for example:    # Xmx and Xms set the maximum and minimum RAM usage, respectively. # They can take any number, followed by an M or a G. # M means Megabyte, G means Gigabyte. # For example, to set the maximum to 3GB: -Xmx3G # To set the minimum to 2.5GB: -Xms2500M # A good default for a modded server is 4GB. # Uncomment the next line to set it. -Xmx10240M -Xms8192M    i need to make more experiments but for now this apparently works.

The only thing you'll have to likely do is update the `oSpinningEffectIntensity` + `spinningEffectIntensity` variables on the player when your effect is applied. Which values should be there? Not 100% sure, might be a game of guess and check, but `handleNetherPortalClient` in LocalPlayer has some hard coded you might be able to start with.

      Minecraft Forge Error Code 1

      I have been having a problem with minecraft forge. Any version. Everytime I try to launch it it always comes back with error code 1. I have tried launching from curseforge, from the minecraft launcher. I have also tried resetting my computer to see if that would help. It works on my other computer but that one is too old to run it properly. I have tried with and without mods aswell. Fabric works, optifine works, and MultiMC works aswell but i want to use forge.
