Sever-mods, work with vanilla client?

Greetings everyone.

 

I just wanted to verify before I began taking advantage of the functionality of minecraft forge.

 

(The title really says it all but...)

 

Is it possible to run Minecraft Forge on a server and let vanilla clients connect?

My server mod is a specialized administration mod that connects to my own database backend,

so from a client's perspective no "new" functionality would be added.

I'd do a quick test if I was you. My guess is that it's possible, just set clientSideRequired to false

No they can't connect with vanilla because Forge requiers forge install on client to even connect to one with out forge mods.
