Hello, I've sucessfully created a config file. I've also managed to make so that you could open a gui in game from the mod screen. I've made two cattegories but don't know how to add the options in there. My code:

Config:

http://pastebin.com/Z1Yykgvx

ModGuiFactory:

http://pastebin.com/0Q5kBUQ2

GuiConfig:

http://pastebin.com/J8XTdMWG

CommonProxy:

http://pastebin.com/tJGehBRW

Config file that it creates:

http://pastebin.com/0jb31F6W

You can see how I automatically add a GUI entry for each config element in my mod here. I think I adapted this from EnderIO a while back.

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.

Just be aware that the above solution (which is very slick) requires anyone using your mod to have Java 8, whereas Minecraft itself I believe still targets the severely outdated Java 6.

Might want to note that in your mod description, but even then, there is bound to be someone that doesn't read it and hasn't updated Java and complains to you about it :P

This is true, but recent versions of Forge explicitly warn the user if they're using an old version of Java and have mods that require Java 8 installed. If none of their mods require Java 8, Forge will still display a big warning telling them that they should update Java.

That's a handy feature for Forge to have.

Someone was asking just the other day how to disable the nag.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
