E-tag checksum problem

Humm I wonder if there was something you could give us that would tell us exactly what is going on and what the error is....

Perhaps something that catalogs everything that happens during loading...

I think those things are called LOGS!

But beyond that, you should update to 1.8, it's been over a year and a half. 1.9 is about to drop and when it does 1.7.10 will be OFFCIALLY EOLed on these forums.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Im playing with mods that were only updated to 1.7.10. And how do i give you the log?

Upload logs/fml-client-latest.log from your game directory to Gist and link it here.

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.

Hello I also got the same problem while trying to install forge 1.7.10.1614 today. The problem is that there is no .log file created. (Step1)When I run the "forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-1.7.10-installer.jar" or "forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-1.7.10-installer-win.exe". (Step2)Then I click on the "Install server" option and proceed to select and empty folder.(Step3)After that I click the "OK" button. Then the little progress window appears saying: "Downloading libraries" and under it "Downloading minecraft server version ...". And in a few seconds a pop-up window appears with a title "Error downloading" and content "Downloading minecraft server failed, invalid e-tag checksum.   Try again, or manually place server jar to skip download.".

It has instructions indeed but what I personally am unable to understand is where and which server.jar file do I have to download in order to skip it's failing download.

Edit: sorry I do not know how to reduce the pictures' size.

Unfortunately I think this is just a problem with Forge ATM. Its seems like too much of a coincidence that the last post on this was almost a year ago, and as soon as i start having problems, someone else posts here. I havent been able to download the Libraries with this same exact issue.

Actually it looks like Amazons Web Hosting is having some issues, that could be part of the problem. Heres the Story https://techcrunch.com/2017/02/28/amazon-aws-s3-outage-is-breaking-things-for-a-lot-of-websites-and-apps/

    • Hello everyone, I'm making this post to seek help for my modded block, It's a special block called FrozenBlock supposed to take the place of an old block, then after a set amount of ticks, it's supposed to revert its Block State, Entity, data... to the old block like this :  The problem I have is that the system breaks when handling multi blocks (I tried some fix but none of them worked) :  The bug I have identified is that the function "setOldBlockFields" in the item's "setFrozenBlock" function gets called once for the 1st block of multiblock getting frozen (as it should), but gets called a second time BEFORE creating the first FrozenBlock with the data of the 1st block, hence giving the same data to the two FrozenBlock :   Old Block Fields set BlockState : Block{minecraft:black_bed}[facing=east,occupied=false,part=head] BlockEntity : net.minecraft.world.level.block.entity.BedBlockEntity@73681674 BlockEntityData : id:"minecraft:bed",x:3,y:-60,z:-6} Old Block Fields set BlockState : Block{minecraft:black_bed}[facing=east,occupied=false,part=foot] BlockEntity : net.minecraft.world.level.block.entity.BedBlockEntity@6d1aa3da BlockEntityData : {id:"minecraft:bed",x:2,y:-60,z:-6} Frozen Block Entity set BlockState : Block{minecraft:black_bed}[facing=east,occupied=false,part=foot] BlockPos{x=3, y=-60, z=-6} BlockEntity : net.minecraft.world.level.block.entity.BedBlockEntity@6d1aa3da BlockEntityData : {id:"minecraft:bed",x:2,y:-60,z:-6} Frozen Block Entity set BlockState : Block{minecraft:black_bed}[facing=east,occupied=false,part=foot] BlockPos{x=2, y=-60, z=-6} BlockEntity : net.minecraft.world.level.block.entity.BedBlockEntity@6d1aa3da BlockEntityData : {id:"minecraft:bed",x:2,y:-60,z:-6} here is the code inside my custom "freeze" item :    @Override     public @NotNull InteractionResult useOn(@NotNull UseOnContext pContext) {         if (!pContext.getLevel().isClientSide() && pContext.getHand() == InteractionHand.MAIN_HAND) {             BlockPos blockPos = pContext.getClickedPos();             BlockPos secondBlockPos = getMultiblockPos(blockPos, pContext.getLevel().getBlockState(blockPos));             if (secondBlockPos != null) {                 createFrozenBlock(pContext, secondBlockPos);             }             createFrozenBlock(pContext, blockPos);             return InteractionResult.SUCCESS;         }         return super.useOn(pContext);     }     public static void createFrozenBlock(UseOnContext pContext, BlockPos blockPos) {         BlockState oldState = pContext.getLevel().getBlockState(blockPos);         BlockEntity oldBlockEntity = oldState.hasBlockEntity() ? pContext.getLevel().getBlockEntity(blockPos) : null;         CompoundTag oldBlockEntityData = oldState.hasBlockEntity() ? oldBlockEntity.serializeNBT() : null;         if (oldBlockEntity != null) {             pContext.getLevel().removeBlockEntity(blockPos);         }         BlockState FrozenBlock = setFrozenBlock(oldState, oldBlockEntity, oldBlockEntityData);         pContext.getLevel().setBlockAndUpdate(blockPos, FrozenBlock);     }     public static BlockState setFrozenBlock(BlockState blockState, @Nullable BlockEntity blockEntity, @Nullable CompoundTag blockEntityData) {         BlockState FrozenBlock = BlockRegister.FROZEN_BLOCK.get().defaultBlockState();         ((FrozenBlock) FrozenBlock.getBlock()).setOldBlockFields(blockState, blockEntity, blockEntityData);         return FrozenBlock;     }
