Calling All Modders!

 

We are the team of Arcticraft, and we are looking for experienced modders to join the team. If you would like to apply, please fill in the form below after checking you qualify to join. We need your help! In return, you will receive a place in "The Team" on the forum  thread (linked above) and access to our conversations.

 

Positions on offer:

 

Mob modeller:

Requirements:

 

  • Techne mob modelling software
  • Skype
  • Previous modelling experience including rotation etc.

 

 

 

Mob Texturer:

Requirements:

 

  • Paint.NET/GIMP/Photoshop etc.
  • NOT PAINT
  • Experience with texturing mobs
  • Skype

  • Good understanding of Minecraft Forge and its hooks and events

Position I wish to fill: General Advanced Coder

Age (Must be 12+ to qualify): 15

Country/Region: Holland (though my school is bilingual, so we get half of our lessons in english in stead of dutch, so don't worry about me having a charcoal accent or anything

Programs I use (Skype is a necessity!):eclipse, techne, skype and of course minecraft

Previous work (Links):I made a small and useless mod for myself with a shaving knife, a shaving table, cheese, a cheese dimension(which was horrible) and a cerberus dog also alot of c++, but i assume that knowledge is useless in the world of java and i did some small non-minecraft java projects aswell as some apps for my English teacher (he forced me)

Do I specialize in anything (If so, what):well the the horrific anti-skill of me trying to do textures makes me relatively specialized in anything else

 

and by the way... FIRST  :P

Looks pretty interesting. I am the creator of the PaintGun Mod as well as the Damage Indicators Mod and I would help if you need it. I don't mind to use skype, but I do not own a mic, as it is normally not required.

I have experience is almost everything, but modeling and texturing is not my thing, I find it tedious and uninteresting. So I guess advanced coder.

Minecraft is not the first game I have made mods for, I first started modding after taking programming in high school, with the original unreal tournament(mutators). I have been to school for computer science, so experience is a non-issue.

I use netbeans or eclipse, and I always keep both sharing the same repository, so IDE is also a non-issue.

I always use forge for modding, so of course I have an understanding of forge, and a deep dislike for modloader to boot xD.

I am 28 years old. I believe that about covers it. Let me know if you need a hand :)

      Here is a tutorial from this same forum that I tried and kinda made work. Take into account that you will have to manage the offset (like rotation, and the offset relative to things like the main hand, offhand etc) by yourself and that can get very troublesome at times.

      I have been following these exact tutorials for quite a while, I must agree that they are amazing and easy to follow. I have registered the item in the ModFoods class, I tried to do it in ModItems (Where all the items should be registered) but got errors, I think I may need to revert this and figure it out from there. Once again, thank you for your help! 👍 Just looking back, I have noticed in your code you added ITEMS.register, which I am guessing means that they are being registered in ModFoods, I shall go through the process of trial and error to figure this out.
