Trying to get Enumhelper to work in forge 1.7.2-10.12.1.1063

I am trying to get enumhelper to work, but as far as eclipse knows the import does not exist:

using the following imports:

import net.minecraft.item.Item.ToolMaterial;

import net.minecraftforge.common.EnumHelper;

 

and trying to get the following to work:

public static ToolMaterial gemRed = new EnumHelper.addToolMaterial("gemRed", 3, 512, 10.0F, 8.0F, 5);

this is the code needed for the toolMaterial.

public static final Item.ToolMaterial gemRed = EnumHelper.addToolMaterial("gemRed", 3, 512, 10.0F, 8.0F, 5);

This works fine for me.
