[SOLVED] [1.7.2] Rendering bow in 3rd person

Hi everybody! I'm updating my bows form 1.6.4 to 1.7.2, but using the same code for rendering the bow in 3rd person it doesn't work in 1.7.2, while it works in 1.6.4. I don't know why, it gives me no errors, i have tested the class and i saw that it only "run" the constructor, not the other functions, wich are the functions who draw the bow in 3rd person view...

Do you want it to be rendered as a normal minecraft bow, if so remove all IItemRendering code and in your item constructor add this.setFull3d(true);

 

or add:

 

@SideOnly(Side.CLIENT)

public boolean isFull3D()

return true;

}

maybe i'm missing something? I think it's all ok in the ClientProxy too but maybe i must change something :/

 

[EDIT] I've moved the proxy.registerRenderThings() from preInit to Init and it worked! :D

Now, for what reguarding the FOV Zoom, how can i added it to my custom bow without editing the original code? :/ I know that simply extending the ItemBow has no effect because in the original code it is written that only if the item is the Bow (and not an instance of ItemBow) there is the zoom :/

There is the FOVUpdateEvent  you can use.

For how vanilla does it, look at the getFOVMultiplier method within the EntityPlayerSP class (dunno if it's still named like that in 1.7.x or if it's a func_xxxx name)

Note that this zooms in more than the regular bow, so if you don't want that, follow the vanilla values (20.0F instead of 10.0F, 0.15F instead of 0.3F).

FOV zoom is handled in EntityPlayerSP (so you can snag the code from there for the appropriate algorithm), and there is an FOVUpdateEvent from Forge that you can use to calculate FOV when using your custom bow.
