Coding standards

I am kinda new to the mod community, and so far it has been awesome. I am working on a small mod with plants and plant processing, so I was wondering is there any list of coding standards or naming conventions (that are not common sense Java, like packages and instance with a lowercase, classes with uppercase...) that I have to follow just to not make myself look like a dumbass. Any links or explanations would be greatly appreciated.

There are many behind me, but still some ahead...

Do whatever you want.  No one's going to see it.

The only standards I can think of come to how you name your items/blocks ("modname.[item|block|entity]name") but that's more for "convenience of inter-mod compatibility" than anything (ie. ingots, ores, dusts, gems, etc.).

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

One thing I found useful is if you have keybindings, it is better to prefix them with your mod name or alias. Because when there are many keybindings in controls list you have no idea what mod they come from since almost no mod prefixes them with its name.
