Windows 8 Wont Forge Installer load

ok, so I download Forge I extract it to my desktop. Once there i try to open it, and it simply wont open.  When I open the file a black box will appear on my screen for a brief second then it will dissapear and nothing will happen. Please help! Idk if Forge isnt updated for windows 8 yet but i need to use it soon. It is becoming a great pain in the a**.

(Knowing that this will probably not be fun to hear...) Are you running the jar, or extracting it? Have you followed the instructions from Direwolf20's 1.6.2 forge installation video? If not, try that. If all else fails, send a message to the javaxdelta team about this problem, so it can be fixed.

But no, the issue is that you are not running the jar,
