  1. Oh well never mind, i'll uninstall everything and go back to the way it was before i decided to try forge. At least that way i can get hands on experience with something i have managed to install and get working, and has lots of tutorials. At my age its to late to learn another language, i will learn faster with existing examples and playing with them. And trying to fix what i break. Thanks anyway and good luck to all the team with forge, i wish you all many happy mod making days.
  2. Hi, i have managed to get forge into MPC, but can't seem to open the libraries when creating a new project. Maybe i am thinking how i managed to setup the previous install without forge, (modloader and eclipse etc for use with techne) but here for some reason i can't get eclipse to load anything concerning MC. I have followed as many YT vids and other forums who have solutions but i just can't see which is the right way to do things. One site said point to the forge folder (workspace) another said import the client and the server, another said point to the libraries. To many old tutorials with unclear info, all just say setup mpc add bin, res and server jar add forge and run. I can't find anything else that says what to do to make eclipse run forge. Obviously if i can get this sorted then i am one step closer to starting to learn, but even then, i can't see a single tutorial be it here, at your wiki (old yes) or youtube and the net in general. It all seems very daunting and confusing (for me ). Does anyone know of a clear way of making sure i have done everything correctly. Or a tutorial with precise setup instructions and what to do when i open eclipse to relate forge to it. From there a basic block creation tutorial would be handy to!? LOL, maybe its me and this is just to complicated for a noob to java, the worst thing is that its so frustrating when you want to learn.
  3. , i normaly leave joining a forum untill i have tried everything i can read, i never have been good at asking for help. This time round i slipped up and made a stupid mistake, i guess in 2 or 3 days of trying i would have possibly realised my error and corrected it as i kicked myself. Glad i did ask though, fast and speedy response. I upped your karma a notch (no mc pun intended) thanks again!
  4. Doh, how to look stupid before getting started. Thanks Havaro, its decompiling now
  5. Hi everyone, I have been going over the multitude of different tools to see what seems best so i can start learning to mod. From various sources i keep seeing Forge popup, so i decided to see what happens. I have a clean MC.jar and new MCP extraction. The bin, the resources and the server jar are all in the jars folder. I am using javaSDK 1.7. and have downloaded minecraftforge-universal-4.0.0.200 After following the instructions on the wiki and a couple of threads here just before joining, i believe i am supposed to see a folder called forge in the MCP folder. This folder is not here. After half a dozen attempts, i explored (7-zip) the forge zip file and can't see it in there either. All i can see is the cpw, ibxm, net and paulscode folders alongside a whole bunch of class and txt files. I read the README-fml.txt but that didn't help me. The second point is that i can't see the install.cmd/.sh. Although everything is clean now for this setup, i know things were working testerday because i had MCP running through eclipse. I am sure i have missed something some where, but can't see for looking. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Regards AB
