Startup Error with Java 9

It appears every version of Forge from 1.7.10 to the latest 1.12.2 is incompatible with Java 9, or at least one of the libraries is.

Here's the error it creates:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassCastException: java.base/jdk.internal.loader.ClassLoaders$AppClassLoader cannot be cast to java.base/java.net.URLClassLoader
	at net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch.<init>(Launch.java:34)
	at net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch.main(Launch.java:28)

They're currently in the process of implementing it? I hope they make it possible to run Java 9 on every forge version. Especially 1.7.10, it would be nice to reap the performance benefits on a version that already runs like butter.

Oh, no, no...

1.7.10 is no longer supported in this Forum, any bugs or crashes and you're on your own.

Forge will be implementing Java 9 for all versions most likely, but will start to focus more on the newer versions.

Hence you must update quickly or else the train will board without you!

Short Story: J9 Breaks EVERYTHING related to how Modding works. So having it work on old versions will most likely never happen. But we're working on making it work for new versions. We'll see after that. Just use J8

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
