What is currently the best location for up-to-date mod listings?

In the days of yore the MC Forums were the main site for mods, but it seems to have slowed down. Now there is a Curse mod list as well, which feels rather incomplete. We have a subforum here that has threads for a bunch of mods. There's the MCF Mod List website at http://modlist.mcf.li/ which is now only rarely updated, but is otherwise ideal. So what is currently the best listing? Or would I have to go around to several of them for a good list?

I've found a good alternative for http://modlist.mcf.li/ and that's bot.notenoughmods.com it seems to receive daily updates (last update: Yesterday) and also seems to track a lot more mods too!

A small necro just to warn that http://modlist.mcf.li/ list is far from updated. Several mods are queued for be added and it doesn't even have the 1.9.4 category.

Mostly because just two people maintain it.

CurseForge itself has a fairly decent mod-list with filtering and sorting functionality:

Is Minecraftmods.com a good place to get Mods...are they fully compatible with Forge?
