SimpleMods
Brought to you by Dries007 & my 1th aid team
Need help? Join #dries007 on espernet

You can install this on server only but this  is unstable (The client won't know about the Wand)

Download!
This a coremod! Build on the lates recommended forge.

If you find bugs, pust them here.

Suggestions can be put in the suggestions thread. Once they are implemented they will be removed.

I'm sorry about the low amount of help documentation.
Now that I'm getting more of a community to help me that should move faster.

What is this about?
Is it all the mods together? And also why did a lot of the Topics get locked?

Since last topic was closed before i got an awnser, i'll repost it here.

Everything works for me, except region flags.
I can select a region save it, add and remove members.
Even the glaf set commands work, but noone if affected by the flags.
People can keep breaking blocks or open chests wen the noplayerblock or noplayerchest flags are active.
I'm sure they do not have the permission for that. (they are in the default guest rank)
Any ideah why this is? I really need some sort of protection on my server.

Please update forge to 355 and use latest version of SimpleMods and test again
It should work
Notice: Not all Flags are fully implemented. noplayerblock is implemented but it doesn't work as it should

Is there a way to declare global regions? In other words, define a region as "ALL THE SERVER!"? If I wanted to, for example, eliminate the chance of fire griefing by disabling fire spreading and destroying blocks across the server, I don't want to have to update the region every time someone explores a new sector.

no not at this time but vanilla minecraft has a code to do this as well as turn off mob griefing (creeper explosions destroying blocks) by /gamerule <rule> <true/false> and this will effect the entire server

You mark the regions with the wand.
Leftclick sets pos1 and Rightclick sets pos2

Go to where you installed FTB

then go to /FTBBETAA/instMods

Backup the copy of forge in there (I renamed it to MinecraftForge.zipX) and put in a copy of forge 355.

FTB modpack still works fine.

Thx, I tried that.
(on the server version of ftb and updating forge went fine)
So the server ran forge 355.
But still no luck with region protection.
Ah well then i'm gonne have to design a spawn made out of bedrock, obsidian and mazestone. :/

I too am having trouble with regions with FTB.  Do I need to change the id of the wand in the config to that of the wand ingame?  Because when I did that and crafted one I crash out with this error http://pastebin.com/Wq0UTTvV

Oh also I get no changes to the chat for ranks and such

use NEI to export your block id list
it is most likly the wand is useing the same id as another.

the wand is a seperat item with simple mods.
i change mine from 900 to 601 as i have over 60 mods in my system
the wand should then show up and you should be able to sue it.

in nei option there is an export block id's
this will give you a list of id's in use and one that are free.

The problem is that I do most of the work on this project and I need to put most/all of my time in school. I intend to update this and all other mods but that requires me to have a few hours straight time and that is verry rare.

I do 11h school days  (I leave at 7am and am home at 6pm...) and prefere 8h+ of sleep thats 5h for homework and eating and finally hobbys.
I'm writing this while waiting on my bus to head to school.

I'm really sorry it takes this long but if you can code (even a little bit) you can help me!

Oh and btw thats why I joined the FE team, its a team. Work kan be distributed.

Got a quick small question about the command : /items killall
what does it actually all remove?
Cuz in some parts of my server, we can run it 10  times after each other and it keeps clearing more then 100 items every time.
I'm wondering, does it only remove floating entities? or certain mobs or other stuff too?

Hello,

I am just trying some test server and I have install it with the lastest forge (409).
But when the server start I have this :

Quote
FML has found a non-mod file SimpleMods_46.jar in your mods directory. It will now be injected into your classpath. This could severe stability issues, it should be removed if possible.

Any idea ?

Thx

How do you select regions now? I don't see a wand in the creative inventory, nor does the ID it has in the config show up as a valid ID.

Any ideas?

For information, you can't bloc player destroying bloc in a region....
Chest access is ok, placing block to. But when you try to destroy a bloc you receive a message, but the bloc is destroyed.

no error in the console.

Ah, that works great. I set the region, did //flags noplayerblock 1 and no one can destroy blocks.

Only problem, no one can open trade-o-mats, chests, ender chests, etc... anything with a GUI it seems.

I tried setting nochest to 0, but that doesn't work. When they try to open the trade-o-mat, it gives the "noplayerblock cancelled the event" or something.

Anyway to fix that?

strange because I set the flag correctly but the user can destroy the block...

Perhaps some compatibility issue ?

I confirm the problem.
I use the forge version : 1.4.5-6.4.1.409

Same version on the client and the server.

No problem with the block place or the chest access. But the block break is not working.

[EDIT]
ok for the noplayerblock :)

Can u add a config for most commands and with permission systems? And also messages when a player logs in and more configurable messages and a lot of other things. This isnt really specific but, generally, just more configurable stuff :P

Hey, Dries, well done with this mod.  I have one request: multihome.  Can you do it?  Or would you like some help? (I'd have to update my entire Forge installation, I'm still on 1.3 because my mod just wouldn't cooperate on the new system)

Is there a text file somewhere that holds the permissions information?  It would be a lot easier to be able to just edit that than inputting so many commands to make ranks in game.

No, although you can use an NBTeditor to open the .dat files in the world folder to do that.

You can promote someone to a lower rank, I didn't know of a better name for the command and I didn't want to make a 2th command just for something that is already ingame

I would like to request a [core] mod for changing or at least removing some recipes of other forge mods. I need this for an FTB Magic World modpack server (free server), where the adventure areas need railcraft chunkloaders (there is no config to remove the crafting recipe without deactivating the feature it seems) and for an FTB main modpack server (also free) to make some OP recipes (nano saber and armor) considerably harder or get rid of them entirely if that isn't possible.

I have very basic knowledge of forge only and I found out in other threads that I could probably block recipes based on vanilla items (like the railcraft chunkloader) by adding one with the same ingredients that makes for example dirt inside a coremod (which after all is loaded first), but I fear I would seriously mess things up if I tried that with ingredients from mods that aren't even registered at that point. That and I would love to use the whole package you have going here rather than my own unstable homebrew.

Coincidentally, I'm developing a mod to allow configuration of recipes (among other things), and it'll be open on git once it's prototyped. Seems strange the need for this hadn't sooner been addressed.

Double-coincidentally, inspiration struck once I saw how entertaining yet poorly balanced the FTB mods are.

If there's a demand for this functionality in SimpleMods, I'll contribute when it becomes viable. A bug in Configuration of Forge build 448 set me back a day.

Thank you for the great job you did, but when i installed this mod on a server ive got some troubles with regions.
Flag noplayerblock is not fully included so i looked up on code and found out that uoy havent finished it? so i tryed to finish it. So finally ive got a working version of noplayerblock flag. I dont know too much about GitHub, so i cant do a pull request. I ve just compiled it and uploading it:
before:
Code: [Select]
if(event.action!=event.action.RIGHT_CLICK_BLOCK) return;
after:
Code: [Select]
if(VanillaInterface.hasTag(world, event.x, event.y, event.z, "noplayerblock", event.entityPlayer)) {
if(event.action==event.action.RIGHT_CLICK_BLOCK) {
event.entityPlayer.sendChatToPlayer(SimpleModsTranslation.noPlayerBlockMessage);
event.setCanceled(true);
event.useBlock = Result.DENY;
return;
}

}
So ive tested it and it works but im not sure about that
based on the 23 commit and 443 forge
Sorry for my bad spelling, im from Russia))

ok, looked on this, it disables nochest check, so... It works but not right... ill try to fix this
