Help ... tearing hair out
« on: Yesterday at 07:45:47 pm »
The daughter wants to get some mods installed but i am struggling with it.

She has a windows 10 laptop with Minecraft Edition 10 installed.

I have installed google chrome and then JAVA.  I then downloaded the forge installer but it says "there is no minecraft directory setup."

Whats the problem ? is it because of the version she has is too "new" ? do we need to buy another minecraft version i.e. earlier before minecraft forge will work?

Thanks in advance.

Forge is only for the Java version of Minecraft, and not for the Windows 10 edition. You'd have to buy the Java version from www.minecraft.net and install Forge for that.
If you have a question, please make a thread on the designated board. PMs with questions will be ignored!

1.7.10 and older version for Minecraft are no longer supported. Update to the latest version if you want help.

I recommend you buy it directly from them at https://minecraft.net/

You should get off the internet and grab a creeper plushie because you're 7 years old.

ok bought it from there, tried installing and all it comes up with is:

"Unable to start the Minecraft Runtime Environment. This is most likely caused by a corruption.  Please try to reinstall Minecraft"

Tried a few times and again after rebooting and it keeps coming up with same errors.

That's something you might want to contact Mojang support for.
