Nitro Model Thingy
« on: August 19, 2012, 10:20:55 am »
As per GaryCXJk's permission (as well as direct permission on IRC), I am updating NMT and releasing new features and updates.  Mostly this first version is just a port from GaryCXJk's 1.2.5 codebase.

NMT is a layer on top of Minecraft's normal ModelBase that adds a few new features such as building up the call lists, some helper model generation functions, and so forth.  It is quite low level and just removes a lot of boilerplate from creating models in code, as well as a few new features.  If you know how that is useful then it should be useful to you, else likely not.  I will be updating this and adding features over time as well as a full overhaul if MC updates its OpenGL to 2+.  I will likely be setting up git somewhere soon to accept pull requests for new features and bug fixes and so forth.

Changelog:

(Descending order)

Release Version 0.1.0 on 2012-08-19.

Converted from a FILE based loader to a URL stream based loader, thus it can now load files from the filesystem, from inside the mod jar, or even from a web link.

Added a Cylinder helper but not complete nor even useable yet.

Ported Code Base to 1.3

As per GaryCXJk's agreement, I have full access to this code base, and although I have no qualms about modders requiring it to be downloaded from here, please do not place it 'in' to your mod or it can cause conflicts unless you know what you are doing and verify it with me first (I really do not want to handle such support requests if such a thing were done improperly).  As per GaryCXJk's style I will also have a list here of accepted modders and mods that are allowed to include it internally as they will do it in a compatible way.

I have both adfly and direct links here, all money I get through adfly will be put forth to pay the expenses I incur in running this site, so please use the adfly link if possible, the direct links are as files attached to the bottom of this post, also feel free to comment on new features you want (especially if you have code), bug reports, etc...

For users (the class files):  Client Class Files

For modders (source files):  Source Files

Ooh, shiny!
Thanks, I've been looking for something like this.
So, what would happen if I did push that shiny red button over there? ... Really? ... Can I try it? ... Damn.

Easiest way is to drop the source in to your mcp/src/minecraft area and use it as-is.  You can keep the NMT files with your mod *IF*IF*IF* you change its namespace, or do not include the NMT files with your mod and just have them put the client jar with your mod in the mods directory so others can use it too (point them to my topic to download).  The second way is also better in that they will get bug fixes where they would not if you included it and renamed its namespace.

EDIT:  I perhaps should make a jar that is linkable into Eclipse without needing the source, would make overall modding with it easier...

Ah but I give direct links too if you notice, feel free to use them.  ;)
Adf.ly is only used for this server only, it eats up a *lot* of bandwidth each month that I have to pay for.
Yep yep, feel free to include.  If you make additions or patches or anything then pass them back to me so I can include them as well.  :)
Try to change the package name for it just to make sure no conflicts, that can be done with two clicks in Eclipse.  :)

This looks great. I've never used TMT but this should be exactly what I'm looking for. One question, will there be an official update for 1.4.7? Thanks for the update.
