Thanks a lot for the answer.

I used the Installer to make the server. Everyone I see in videos and tutorials uses the Minecraft_server.jar and their mods run right. I don't get any errors and the items in the mods load but none of the functionality of the mods work. If I run Minecraftforge_Universal then the mods load and work. I just want to know how everyone else is getting that other jar to work and whether I'm doing something wrong. What is the difference between those two server files? Thanks.
