Home Missing/Obstructed - only mod is Forge 375

I'm new here so hope I don't break any rules. I did a few searches and didn't find anything related.

I'm getting "home was missing or obstructed" consistently, even when my bed is clearly unobstructed. Oddly, I've nailed it down to forge. Here are some basics -

- single player

- using java 7 update 9

- minecraft 144

- Forge universal 375 and 372

- occurs with Forge being the only mod

- occurs after clean install (by clean, I mean I wiped everything and started fresh)

- used a variety of beds & placements

I tested it in creative mode - placed a bed in a clearly unobstructed area (near spawn) and made a suicide lava pit. Using /time set night I was able to reproduce it a number of times and can't seem to find any other cause.

Any idea what is wrong?

I'm also having this problem when using any 1.4.4-compatible version of Forge.

Edit: This bug also exists in the 1.4.5 preview using build 381 of Forge.

Same problem here. 1.4.4 and 1.4.5 MC with any compatible forge version gives me the obstruction error when trying to spawn at my bed. If I rollback to 1.4.2 and compatible forge spawning works fine. Using same world map and bed setup for all the tests and no other mods installed.

More testing: using just the Forge ModLoader, this problem goes away. The problem also doesn't occur when playing on servers.

Can you elaborate when you say "just the Forge Modloader" zobrux? Are you saying just MC 144 and any forge universal 6.3.x installed as that is exactly what I am doing and getting the problem.

If I use the stand-alone FML from here, the bug doesn't happen. This isn't particularly newsworthy (it doesn't change nearly as much as the full Forge package), but I tested it for completeness's sake. It just means that the bug is definitely in the main Forge code, rather than elsewhere.

I wasn't sure whether to make a new thread or add to this one, but I am having the exact same issue.

Minecraft 1.4.4, Fresh install of legitimately purchased game.

Magiclauncher 1.0.0

Java 7 update 9

Forge universal "minecraftforge-universal-6.3.0.372.zip"

No other mods of any kind.

Beds that work perfectly fine without forge do not work with it.

"Update to the latest forge for 1.4.4." I am using the latest "recommended" download of universal. so this advice is useless to me. Unless it it meant to use "minecraftforge-universal-6.4.0.382.zip" which when using with Minecraft 1.4.4 causes a "minecraft cannot load with the present configuration" error.

And "Fixed". Not from where I am standing it isn't, unless the fixed version has not been released yet.

If it is intended to be fixed for version 1.4.5 that is lame big time because most of us just got 1.4.4, so we basically wouldn't be able to use forge until minecraft officially updates to 1.4.5... A fixed 1.4.4 forge is needed please.

There is no crash, so no crash report, but here is ForgeModLoader-client-0.log for whatever that is worth.

A backport would be nice...

And, yes, it is only fixed for 1.4.5 atm.

We don't do back ports right now, just update to 1.4.5 there is no reason to stay on 1.4.4

The problem with that is that many of the mods currently out that use forge to run are built for the 1.4.4 version of minecraft, and won't work with minecraft 1.4.5. (I upgraded and tried several).

This renders using your forge program for either 1.4.4 or 1.4.5 mostly pointless for the time being. I'm sure a great many people would really appreciate a fixed forge for 1.4.4 and who knows maybe it would increase the number of people clicking your optional advertisement links for your trouble. I'd certainly click the adlfy download links if you were to do a 1.4.4 fix.

Yaya I can use the extra 1/110th of a penny, I'll be rich!

But the majority mod mods for 1.4.4 should work for 1.4.5, aside from that, you should tell your mod author to update if they don't work.

Without a major re-vamp of how our build system works, we can't do parallel builds, so it's not really worth it. Just update.
